Field Types
Every field on a collection has one of these thirteen types. The type decides which editor the dashboard shows, which validations are available, and how the value is shaped in the Content API (the “API type” column below).
| Type | Description | API type |
|---|---|---|
Texttext | Single line text (headings, titles) | string |
Long Textrichtext | Rich formatted text with a WYSIWYG editor | string |
Emailemail | Validated email address | string |
Numbernumber | Integer, decimal, or float values | number |
Enumerationenumeration | Single choice from a defined list of values | string |
Multi Enumerationmulti_enumeration | Multiple choices from a defined list of values | string |
Booleanboolean | Yes or no, true or false | boolean |
Datedate | Date, with a picker | string |
Timetime | Time of day, with a picker | string |
Media Assetmedia | Images, videos, or files | media |
Relationrelation | Reference to another collection's entry | relation |
JSONjson | Structured JSON data | object |
Passwordpassword | Hashed, write-only password value | string |
Relation and Media fields
Relation fields point at entries in another collection (or the same one) and are the basis for where-through-relation filtering in the Content API. Media Asset fields reference files uploaded to the project's Media Library rather than storing files inline.
Password fields
Password fields are hashed on write and never returned by the Content API or shown again in the dashboard - they're write-only, intended for building your own authentication on top of VeroXM content rather than for display.
